April,
1980,
a
young
man
named
Terry
Fox
began
a
journey
to
run
across
Canada.
His
purpose
was
to
raise
awareness,
and
to
bring
an
end
of
the
suffering
that
cancer
causes.
He
called
his
journey
the
“Marathon
of
Hope”
He
inspired
and
touched
the
hearts
of
thousands
of
Canadians
as
we
followed
his
travel
each
day.
Unfortunately,
Terry’s
cancer
returned,
and
he
wasn’t
able
to
complete his journey across Canada. Shortly thereafter, cancer took Terry’s young life.
In
honour,
and
remembrance
of
Terry,
Canadatrek
became
a
project
of
mine
with
the
intent
to
let
others
share
in
Terry’s
journey
across
Canada.
Unlike
Terry’s
starting
point
on
the
east
coast,
I
designed
the
system
to
start
the
journey
on
the
west
coast
of
Canada.
The
concept
named
Canadatrek,
began
as
a
Visual
Basic
program,
but
with
the
rapidly
changing
technology
in
the
1980’s,
it
was
difficult
to
keep
up
with
these
technological
changes.
Canadatrek
then
morphed
into
a
series
of
PDF
documents,
but
these
fell
short
of
the
vision
I
had
for
Canadatrek.
The
project
was
set
aside
until
a
better
method
of
providing
Canadatrek
to
the
general
public
was
available.
In
late
2022,
after
much
analysis,
the
Canadatrek
Exercise
Companion
System
began
to
take
form
once
again.
After
years
of
planning
and
research,
I
am
now
pleased
to
offer
you
access
to
this
system.
In
doing
so,
please
remember
Terry,
and
the
hope
he
instilled
in
all
of
us
during his Marathon of Hope journey.
